Gómez de Liaño Botella

Javier Gómez de Liaño has a degree in Law from the University of Salamanca. Once graduated, he passed the public examination and became part of the Spanish Judicial Career.

After different professional assignments in courts, he joined the Criminal Chamber of the Audiencia Nacional as a Magistrate.

In 1990, he was appointed member of the Consejo General del Poder Judicial where he remained until he joined the position of Magistrate of the Juzgado central de instrucción 1 of the Audiencia Nacional.

In 2000, he applied for a voluntary leave of the judicial career and started a new professional experience as a lawyer.

He has published essays of a strictly legal nature, such as the Code of Political Laws, Comments on the Organic Law of the Judiciary System, International Criminal Legislation, Comments on the Criminal Code, Legal Opinions and Dictionary of Criminal case law.

Due to his professional experience, Javier Gómez de Liaño is one of the leading experts in extradition and international criminal law.
