María Dolores Márquez de Prado has a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid. In 1978, she accessed the Judicial Career by passing the public examination.

The following year, also through public exam, she entered the Public Prosecutor Career.

She was named Public Prosecutor of the Court of Guipúzcoa. In November of that year, she was assigned to the Audiencia Nacional Prosecutor’s Office, where she remained for more than 17 years.

In November 1999, she was appointed Prosecutor of the Supreme Court, performing functions in the Labour and Criminal Chambers. In November 2007, she applied for a voluntary leave.

She has published several articles on substantive and procedural criminal law, and she frequently participates in legal courses and conferences.
